Blanco Fence Installation: The Houston Owner’s Guide
Blanco fence installation in Houston typically runs $3,500 – $9,000, depending on linear footage, gate hardware, post depth, and whether you’re working with the steel-and-glass Blanco panel system or their aluminum privacy line. We stock the common posts, hinges, and latch assemblies for Blanco fences, and in most cases we can complete the install in one to three days once materials are confirmed.
Most Houston homeowners call us after a gate stops closing true, a post starts leaning after the clay soil swells and contracts through a summer drought, or a panel gets backed into. Blanco makes a solid product, but the installation details here matter more than in drier climates. The fence itself may be perfectly fine. The footings, hardware alignment, and post anchoring are usually where things fail first.
Which Blanco Models This Applies To

Blanco’s fence line splits into two main series that use different post profiles. The Blanco Prestige aluminum line runs 6-foot and 8-foot panels with a 2½-inch square post. The Blanco View steel line runs the same panel heights but uses a 3-inch square post with a heavier gauge wall, which matters if you’re adding an automatic gate opener later.
The fastest way to identify what you have is to look at the post cap. Prestige posts use a flat snap-in cap. View posts use a screw-down cap with a small drainage notch. We see Houston owners order the wrong replacement caps and hinges more often than anything else because they assume all Blanco parts interchange. They don’t.
On the OEM-versus-aftermarket question: Blanco’s own hardware is well made, and for gate hinges and latch assemblies we recommend staying with OEM. The hinge pin tolerances are specific, and aftermarket versions tend to develop sag within a season. For post caps and decorative finials, a quality aftermarket equivalent is usually fine and costs noticeably less. We’ll tell you which is which on the estimate.

Signs Your Blanco Fence Installation Is Failing
- Gate drags or scrapes at the latch side. This is almost always hinge wear or a post that has shifted slightly out of plumb. The Houston clay soil expands in spring and shrinks in August. Even a 6-inch post set concrete can move a half-inch over two or three seasons.
- Post leans but panels stay straight. The post footing was likely too shallow or the concrete was poured in wet, mucky soil without a gravel base. We see this most often in older Meyerland-area fences where the original install skipped the drainage layer.
- Gate latch won’t catch without lifting the gate. The hinge screws have loosened, or the hinge plates ovaled out. Tightening helps for a few weeks. It always comes back unless the plate holes are re-drilled or the hinge is replaced.
- Panel rattles in wind but doesn’t look loose. The channel clips that hold the panel into the post have fatigued. Blanco panels get their clean look from hidden fasteners, which is great until a clip breaks and the whole panel starts buzzing in a Houston thunderstorm.
- Water pools at the bottom of the post after rain. The post cap seal failed or the post wasn’t set with a weep hole at the base. That water sits in the post and slowly corrodes the aluminum from the inside, which you won’t see until the post fails at the soil line.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

For a typical Houston backyard fence of 40 to 60 linear feet, a full Blanco fence installation lands between $3,500 and $9,000. The spread comes down to panel height (6-foot costs less than 8-foot), how many gates you have, whether the old footings need to be dug out or we can share new post holes, and whether the run is straightforward or has to jog around a pool or an old oak root system.
Every quote includes the written price before we start, the parts, the labor, demolition and haul-away of the old fence, post footings set to a depth that holds in Houston’s expanding clay, and the hardware. You’ll also get our 365-Day Done Right Promise in writing. If a gate sags or a post shifts inside that year, we come back and fix it at no charge, no service call fee.
A ballpark for partial jobs: re-hanging a single Blanco gate with new OEM hinges and hardware runs $350 – $800 installed. Replacing one badly rotted or bent post runs $450 – $1,200 depending on how deep we have to go and what the old footing looks like when we open it up.
DIY or Call Us?
A Blanco panel replacement is doable for a homeowner who has a level, a cordless impact driver, and patience. The panel is not under tension, and the clips are straightforward. Replacing a post is a different animal. If it’s set in concrete, you’re digging out a 12-inch-wide, 24-inch-deep column of old concrete in Houston soil that may be baked hard or mud-soft depending on the week.
Gate hinges and latch alignment are where most DIY attempts go wrong. A gate that’s off by a quarter-inch at the post translates to a latch that’s off by an inch at the other end, and you won’t know until you’ve already drilled the pilot holes. For panels, give it a shot if you’re comfortable. For posts, gates, or anything with an automatic opener, call us at (254) 527-5340. The free estimate costs you nothing, and we’ll tell you straight if your existing fence just needs new hinges instead of a full replacement.
FAQs

A properly installed Blanco aluminum or steel fence in Houston lasts 20 to 30 years on the panels and hardware, with posts typically holding 15 to 25 years depending on drainage and soil conditions. The limiting factor here isn’t the Blanco product, it’s the footing and drainage detail around the post base, which is why we set every post with a gravel base and a weep path. Call (254) 527-5340 if you want us to look at your existing post condition before you decide on repair versus replacement.
Yes, in most cases a leaning post, sagging gate, or loose panel can be repaired for much less than a full fence replacement. We’ll tell you honestly which route makes sense, because sometimes the repair is throwing good money at a fence that’s five years from dying anyway. Call (254) 527-5340 and we’ll walk the line with you before we quote anything.
A standard 40-to-60-foot backyard Blanco fence install takes one to three days, including old fence removal and concrete setting time. We give you a defined arrival window before we start, and the written price you get before the work begins is the invoice amount at the end. Call (254) 527-5340 for a free estimate on your specific yard.
We keep common Blanco hinges, latch assemblies, post caps, and channel clips on the truck, plus posts and panels available for same-week pickup through our Houston suppliers. If you need one specific part matched to a Prestige or View line, call (254) 527-5340 and we’ll verify the compatibility from the post cap or the stamp on the inside of the panel before we sell it to you.
