Blanco Home Additions & ADU: The Houston Owner’s Guide
If you own a Blanco sink or faucet and you’re planning a home addition or ADU in Houston, you don’t need a parts page. You need a straight answer on what it costs to build the room that Blanco goes into. Home additions in Houston run $45,000 to $130,000, and an accessory dwelling unit runs $90,000 to $220,000. Most owners call us after they’ve already started pricing fixtures and realize the Blanco kitchen sink or bar faucet they love doesn’t have a home yet.
We’re Penhallow Remodeling Houston. We build the addition, install the Blanco fixtures you’ve already picked, and coordinate the plumbing rough-in so your Blanco sink lands exactly where it should. We are an independent contractor, not affiliated with Blanco. We stock and install Blanco-compatible plumbing trim on kitchen and wet-bar projects, and we’re in Houston every week.
Which Blanco Models This Applies To

Blanco makes sinks and faucets in a few distinct series, and the rough-in matters more than the finish. The Blanco Silgranit sinks, including the Precis, Performa, and Diamond series, drop into standard 33-by-22-inch or 30-by-18-inch cabinet cutouts. The Blanco Culina and Ikon faucets use a single-hole or three-hole deck configuration, which changes the countertop drilling before the Cambria or Silestone top is templated. If you’re planning an ADU with a modest kitchen or wet bar, the Blanco Quatrus or Quadrus apron-front models need a 36-inch cabinet minimum. That is the kind of gotcha we flag before the cabinets are ordered.
What fails first on an existing Blanco installation is rarely the sink itself. It’s usually the faucet cartridge, the soap dispenser, or a supply line that was overtightened at install. We carry OEM Blanco cartridges for the current faucet series on our trucks, and we use quality aftermarket equivalents only when the OEM part is backordered and the aftermarket carries the same 5-year warranty. Trevor Nash will always tell you which one he’s installing and why.

Signs Your Blanco Home Additions & ADU Project Is Failing
- The countertop template didn’t account for the Blanco apron. Apron-front Blanco sinks sit proud of the cabinet face, and a standard template leaves the reveal wrong. You see it once the countertop is set. Fix: recut the front edge of the quartz or pull and re-set the sink. We’ve corrected this on Cambria tops in two Houston projects last year.
- The faucet drips after the plumbing is signed off. This is almost always the ceramic disc cartridge. Houston’s water is moderately hard, and mineral buildup scores the cartridge face over the first year. A $40 OEM cartridge fixes it; ignoring it ruins the finish.
- The ADU wet bar sink drains slowly. On attached ADUs in Houston, the vent stack often gets tied into the main line with too little slope in the branch. The sink gurgles and the trap siphons. This is a plumbing rough-in issue, not a Blanco defect, but we rework the vent and the Blanco drains like it should.
- The soap dispenser piston sticks. Cast zinc pistons in the Blanco dispenser corrode when the bottle leaks downward. The fix is a full dispenser swap, not a rebuild. We keep the OEM dispenser body in stock in brushed nickel and chrome.
- The sink flexes when you press on the bowl. Silgranit composite is rigid, but a poorly shimmed undermount lets the rim flex at the corners. Over time the silicone bead tears and water gets into the cabinet. We pull the sink, re-shim, and re-set with a fresh bead. Done once, it stays done.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

If the part that failed is the Blanco faucet cartridge, the installed cost in Houston is usually $180 to $340, including the OEM part and our trip. If the problem is the sink mounting, a remove-and-re-set runs $400 to $800 depending on whether the countertop is quartz, granite, or laminate. If the issue is the rough-in plumbing behind the wall, that’s part of the larger addition or ADU scope and falls into the $45,000 to $130,000 home addition range.
Every quote includes the written price before work starts. That’s the Kingswell standard that’s been in place since 2004. You get a line-item number and a defined arrival window. DIY or Call Us?
You can safely check a few things before calling. Look under the cabinet for water staining. Check that the faucet base isn’t loose at the deck plate. Wiggle the sink rim. None of that requires a tool. What you shouldn’t do is pull a Blanco faucet cartridge without the right hex key and a cartridge puller, because the brass retaining nut strips easily and a stripped nut turns a $200 repair into a $600 faucet replacement. The same goes for re-setting an undermount sink: if the silicone bond fails, a full Silgranit sink can drop into the cabinet, and that’s a hazard.

FAQs

An OEM Blanco ceramic disc cartridge lasts 8 to 12 years under normal Houston water conditions, but hard water in areas like Katy and The Woodlands can shorten that to 5 to 7 years if you don’t have a softener. Seasonal line pressure swings also wear the disc seals faster.
Minor scratches can be blended with a gel gloss kit, and a cracked rim is not repairable because Silgranit is a granite composite; any structural crack means replacement. However, most Blanco sink failures on our Houston jobs are actually mounting failures, which we repair without replacing the sink.
Most cartridge swaps and dispenser replacements are done in under an hour. A sink remove-and-re-set takes 2 to 3 hours including new silicone cure time. We give you an exact arrival window when you book, and the technician arrives in uniform and background-checked.
We carry OEM Blanco cartridges for current Culina, Ikon, and Axia faucet series, soap dispenser bodies, and mounting hardware for the Precis and Diamond sink lines. Less common parts are ordered overnight and installed the next day. KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone trim pieces are also stocked for projects we’re already building.
