Cambria Driveway & Pavers: The Houston Owner’s Guide
We install, match, and replace Cambria-compatible driveway pavers and all related components across Houston, with most paver driveway repairs running $7,000 to $18,000 installed depending on square footage, base condition, and the exact Cambria paver line. Most of the time we can have a crew out within a few days of your call, and we carry a range of pavers, edging, and base materials on our trucks. The typical call starts with a paver that’s cracked, settled oddly, or a section of the driveway that’s started to heave after a heavy Houston rain.
Here’s the straight story on Cambria hardscape materials: Cambria is best known for quartz countertops, and that’s exactly where we install their product most often. When it comes to driveway pavers, Cambria quartz is not a paving material. What most Houston homeowners are dealing with is a Cambria-branded outdoor product line (Cambria Brittanica and Cambria Skara Brae are two paver and slab collections carried by outdoor stone suppliers in Texas) or a quartz surface area outdoors that’s been damaged. Either way, we can help – but the first step is identifying exactly what you have.
Whether you’re working with Cambria pavers from a larger hardscape system or a Cambria quartz accent that failed, the important part is matching the replacement correctly. Below we cover how to identify your product, what fails first in Houston’s climate, and what replacement actually costs.
Which Cambria Models This Applies To

Cambria offers driveway and paver products in a few distinct lines, and the compatibility rules are specific. The Cambria Brittanica line is a concrete paver system with a textured, stone-look finish. The Cambria Skara Brae collection features larger-format slabs and pavers designed for driveways, walkways, and patios. Both are dimensionally different from standard concrete pavers, which matters if you’re trying to patch a section.
Identifying your pavers correctly before ordering replacements saves a lot of frustration. Start by measuring: Cambria Brittanica pavers typically run around 16″ x 16″ and 24″ x 24″, while the Skara Brae slabs can run up to 24″ x 36″. Check the back or bottom edge of a loose paver for a manufacturer stamp or mold code. If you don’t have a loose one, a clean photo from three angles (top texture, side profile, and thickness) can usually be matched by our team.
Important to know: Cambria quartz countertop slabs are not interchangeable with Cambria pavers. They look similar in written descriptions, but a quartz countertop remnant cannot be installed as a driveway paver. Quartz is engineered for interior surfaces and will crack or degrade quickly under vehicle weight and UV exposure. If a contractor tells you otherwise, be cautious.

Signs Your Cambria Driveway & Pavers Is Failing
- Settled or sunken pavers near the garage apron or street edge. This is almost always a base failure, not a paver failure. Houston’s clay-heavy soils expand and contract with moisture, and if the base wasn’t compacted properly – or wasn’t deep enough – the pavers sink. Near Meyerland especially, we see base washout after prolonged wet seasons.
- Cracks that run in a straight line across multiple pavers. A single paver cracking is one thing. A straight crack line through three or four pavers together usually points to a structural issue underneath: a tree root, a utility trench that was backfilled poorly, or a concrete sub-slab that’s shifting.
- Pavers that rock or wobble when you step on them. Loose pavers mean the sand joint material has washed out or the edge restraint has failed. Left alone, the problem spreads. We see this most often along driveway edges where the plastic or metal edging has worked loose from Houston’s heat-freeze cycles (we do get a few freezes each winter).
- Moss, dark staining, or a white chalky film on the surface. The white film is efflorescence – minerals leaching up through the paver. It’s cosmetic but signals moisture moving through the paver, which in Houston means groundwater, not just rain. Dark staining is usually organic growth in trapped moisture, common on shaded driveways in neighborhoods with heavy tree cover like Timbergrove or Garden Oaks.
- Edge pavers that have started to creep or spread. When the driveway edge isn’t properly restrained, pavers slowly migrate outward under vehicle load. You’ll notice the outside edges looking wavy or the joint lines starting to fan out. This is a repair we can address without replacing the whole surface.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

For a full paver driveway replacement in Houston, we typically quote $7,000 to $18,000 installed. A partial replacement or section repair, which is what most of these problems call for, usually lands between $1,500 and $5,000 depending on how much base work is needed. Concrete driveway replacement runs $4,500 to $12,000 if you decide pavers aren’t the right path forward.
What drives the number: the biggest variable is always what’s under the pavers. If the base is solid, replacing surface pavers is straightforward. If the base has failed – which is true in most settled or cracked sections we see in Houston – we have to excavate, remove the old base, add new crushed stone or a fresh compacted base, and then re-set the pavers. That’s honest labor and it’s the part you can’t skip.
Every replacement includes the new pavers (matched to your existing line or converted to a comparable product), the base repair, joint sand, edge restraint, and full clean-up. We provide a written price before any work starts – the number on the proposal is the number on the invoice. Every job carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise in writing: if a paver settles or a section fails within the first year, we come back and make it right at no charge. No service call fee for the return visit if a repair fails.
DIY or Call Us?
Here’s an honest split. You can absolutely inspect your driveway. Look for the symptoms above, check which sections sound hollow when you tap them with a broom handle, and take photos of the manufacturer stamps if you have loose pavers. That’s worth doing.
What we’d caution against is pulling pavers yourself. Once you remove one, you’ve disturbed the sand joints and edge restraint, and getting it to sit flush again without the right base material and compaction is much harder than it looks. If you have a failed paver due to base issues – and in Houston, with our clay soil and wet springs, that’s most of them – re-laying surface pavers over a bad base just means you’ll do it again in six months. We’d rather give you a straight answer on what’s underneath before you spend a weekend on it. Call (254) 527-5340 and we’ll talk through what you’re seeing.
One more note: driveway pavers are heavy. A single 24″ x 24″ concrete paver can weigh 60 to 80 pounds. Moving a stack of them by hand for a weekend repair is real labor, and a bad lift can hurt your back or worse. If the job involves lifting more than a handful of pavers, let our crew handle the heavy work.
FAQs

With a properly compacted base and good drainage, Cambria concrete pavers in Houston typically last 20 to 30 years before they need meaningful repair, though the sand joints will need re-sanding every 4 to 6 years. The pavers themselves are dense and durable; what fails first in Houston is almost always the base or the edge restraint, not the paver surface. Call (254) 527-5340 if you want us to look at what’s happening with your base.
In most cases we can replace individual pavers or repair a section without redoing the full driveway, as long as the base underneath is sound. If the base has failed under a wide area, we’ll tell you plainly and quote you for the section that needs it rather than the whole surface. Estimates are free.
Most single-paver or small section repairs take one day on site; a large base repair or full driveway replacement typically takes three to five working days depending on square footage and weather. Houston rain can push that timeline, and we’ll give you a defined arrival window before we start, not a “sometime next week”.
We stock a range of common paver sizes and colors on our trucks for immediate repairs, along with base material, sand, and edge restraint. If your specific Cambria line or color needs to be matched from our supplier, we can usually have it within a few days. We also install other brands, including KraftMaid, Silestone, and Kohler products elsewhere in our work, so we know how to source and match hardscape materials correctly.
Ready to get a straight price? Call (254) 527-5340 for a free estimate on your Cambria driveway or paver repair. We’ll come out, look at what’s actually happening underneath, and give you a written number before any work starts. Give me the straight story on what you need, and I’ll give you the straight number on what it costs.
