Unilock Roofing: The Houston Owner’s Guide
Unilock-compatible roofing parts installed in Houston typically run $400 – $1,800 for repairs and $8,000 – $20,000 for a full replacement, and we stock the common failure points on our trucks so most jobs go from first call to finished in one visit. You’ll usually find us because a leak showed up after a storm, a tile cracked during the last heat wave, or a flashing joint started lifting where the roofline meets a wall. Trevor Nash and our Houston crew handle Unilock paver and hardscape roofing details the same way we handle everything else: written price before we start, real arrival window, and a 365-day promise on the work.
Which Unilock Models This Applies To

Unilock’s roofing line spans three series that matter most around Houston: the Estate series (heavier profile, made for low-slope applications), the Brussels Block profile used on rooftop terraces and balcony decks, and the Copthorne line, which we see on flat commercial-style residential overhangs and garden roof structures. The part that usually fails first isn’t the paver itself. It’s the pedestal system underneath, the drainage mat, or the perimeter flashing that keeps water from working its way under the edge.
Identifying the right replacement part starts with the label embossed on the underside of the paver or tile. Unilock stamps a date code along with the series name; the Estate line codes start with “ES” followed by four digits. For the pedestal supports, measure the thread height before ordering. Unilock pedestals range from 3/8 inch to 14 inches, and getting the thread height wrong means the next Houston downpour sends water pooling against your exterior wall instead of draining away. We carry OEM Unilock pedestals and flashing kits, but for drainage mats and underlayment we’ll often recommend a quality aftermarket equivalent that matches the Unilock spec. The OEM mat carries a premium that doesn’t always buy you a better product. The pedestals and edge restraints are where we recommend staying with Unilock parts, because the thread pitch and load ratings are matched to the series. We also stock compatible parts for KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone installations for our remodeling customers.

Signs Your Unilock Roofing Is Failing
Houston’s heat and humidity don’t damage Unilock roofing the same way a Minnesota freeze-thaw cycle does. Here’s what we see most often on Houston roofs, and what’s actually happening underneath:
- Water staining on the ceiling below the roof deck. This usually means a pedestal has compressed under weight or a drainage channel is blocked with Houston’s fine clay sediment, letting water sit against the substrate longer than it should.
- Pavers that rock or shift when you walk on them. The rubber shims on the pedestal heads have dried out and cracked in the UV. Once the shim goes, the paver loses its grip and starts moving.
- Lifted flashing at the roofline or parapet wall. The expansion and contraction from Houston’s 100-degree afternoons followed by 70-degree nights slowly peels the flashing away from the wall, usually at the corner joints first.
- Algae or moss growing across the paver surface. Houston’s humidity means standing moisture doesn’t evaporate quickly, and blocked drainage underneath means the surface never fully dries. It’s a sign, not the problem itself.
- Cracked or spalled paver edges near drains and scuppers. Water funnels hard through those openings during a Houston thunderstorm, and the concentrated flow erodes the paver edge over time.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

Most Unilock roofing repairs in Houston land between $400 and $1,800. A pedestal replacement job where we lift a section, swap out ten or twelve supports, and re-bed the pavers usually runs $500 – $900. Flashing replacement around a parapet wall or roof penetration comes in at $800 – $1,500 depending on linear footage and whether we need to cut back the existing membrane. A full Unilock roof deck replacement, where every paver, pedestal, and drainage layer comes out and goes back new, runs $8,000 – $20,000 depending on the square footage and access. Elevator buildings with no crane access push that number up, as does any structural work beneath the roof system.
Every quote is a written line-item price, and the number you sign is the number on the invoice. If we find rot or a failed membrane once the pavers are up, we stop and show you before spending another dollar. The work carries the 365-Day Done Right Promise, and if a repair fails inside that year, we come back and fix it at no charge.
DIY or Call Us?
This isn’t a spring under tension or a live panel, but it’s still work that goes wrong in ways you won’t notice until the next big Houston storm. You can safely check for rocking pavers, blocked drains, and visible flashing separation yourself. Walk the roof edge where you can do so safely, and look for gaps where the flashing meets the wall. The danger comes when you start lifting pavers. What’s underneath is the waterproofing layer, and a single wrong cut or a dropped tool can open a leak that stays hidden until your ceiling stains. Lifting a paver also voids your Unilock warranty in most cases. When we do it, we’re accountable for getting the waterproofing back right, and the guarantee is in writing. Call (254) 527-5340 and we’ll come walk the roof with you first.
FAQs

The pavers themselves last 30-plus years; the pedestal system and drainage layer under them need attention every 8 – 15 years in Houston’s heat and humidity. Call (254) 527-5340 and we’ll tell you which side of that window your roof is on.
A few failed pedestals can be swapped without replacing the whole roof, but we always inspect the surrounding area while the pavers are up because one failed support usually means others are close behind. Estimates are free.
Most pedestal and flashing repairs on a Houston roof deck are done in one day, including re-setting the pavers and cleaning the area. A full replacement runs three to seven days depending on access and square footage.
We keep common Unilock pedestal heights, shims, and flashing profiles on our trucks, and we order series-specific parts from our Houston supplier the same day whenever the job needs them. Call (254) 527-5340 with your paver’s series code and we’ll tell you if we can match it today.
